A week ago Auckland had New Zealand’s second-biggest natural disaster in history, with a second round hitting us at Stargate Forest last night. The floods and landslips across New Zealand mean we are still in a state of emergency but we are lucky not to have major damage. A few trees down, and grateful that the spa pool cover was not broken into pieces like what occurred with others. As in the video below, the wind ripped the catches off and then it landed in a great spot wedged safely from harm’s way.

The other big bonus has been a year ago when I got the digger, the first task was to build stormwater drains to stop the water from collecting on the grass and causing a bog in the glade. As shown below.

We are very lucky to have escaped the carnage and tens of hunsdands of house that have been flooded.
